A studio born from one Seefeld bathroom
Mama Comfort Bath started when founder Lena Marthaler renovated a narrow Seefeld bathroom for her own household — two children, one shared shower, and tiles that stayed damp through Zurich winters. Neighbours asked for the same mix of soft colour, honest storage, and wet-zone clarity. The studio opened on Bahnhofstrasse to serve families who want styling advice without a full architecture contract.
Why family bathrooms need a different brief
Adult spa mood boards often ignore toothbrush jars, laundry baskets, and night lights. We write briefs around school mornings in Kreis 3 and Kreis 4, bath-time splashes, and grandparents visiting from outside the city. Layouts keep adult grooming and child routines from fighting over the same square metres.
Working inside Swiss buildings
Many Zurich flats keep original pipe stacks and limited floor build-up. We plan around Swiss building standards for waterproofing, fire compartments in multi-unit houses, and ventilation that meets energy renovation rules. When landlords restrict demolition, we style within existing footprints and propose reversible fixtures.
Humidity as a design partner
Lake air and closed windows raise indoor moisture. We choose surfaces that dry quickly, avoid dark grout that shows mineral marks from Zurich water, and place heated towel bars where they help circulation rather than as decoration alone.
Who we work with
Homeowners, tenants with renovation rights, and small landlords updating family rentals. We coordinate with plumbers and tilers you already trust, or introduce contacts when you need them. We do not sell fixtures as a shop; we specify ranges available through Swiss suppliers in CHF.
